AdaptMap

Making Local Climate Impacts Visible

AdaptMap is a climate adaptation platform that helps communities better understand how climate risks are experienced in everyday life.

While cities increasingly rely on environmental measurements and modelling, the lived experiences of citizens often remain invisible. AdaptMap closes this gap by enabling people to share their local perceptions of heat, flooding and other climate-related challenges while receiving tailored adaptation recommendations.

Our Ambition

We aim to:

• Make local climate impacts visible through citizen participation

• Strengthen public awareness and climate adaptation literacy

• Support municipalities with additional decision-relevant insights

• Connect climate challenges with innovative adaptation solutions

• Create a scalable model that can be transferred to cities across Europe

Who We Are

AdaptMap was founded by three young entrepreneurs who have been passionate about climate adaptation since their school years. Today, the project is supported through the City of Cologne's Unbox Cologne innovation programme and is being developed as a publicly accessible platform for citizen-centred climate resilience.
