GDM.CLIMATE STONE

The Climate Stone is a climate‑adaptive paving system that secures surfaces without sealing them. As the world’s first paving stone with a functional three‑layer structure, it combines decades of experience in ecological paving with a clear goal: 
to measurably and sustainably improve the urban climate.

The GDM.CLIMATE stone transforms paved surfaces into active climate surfaces. It allows rainwater to infiltrate and be filtered where it falls, stores moisture within the stone, and releases it back into the environment over time. In this way, it cools the urban environment, reduces the burden on the drainage system and protects the groundwater. During the summer months, the multifunctional paving system achieves up to 70% evaporation (50% on an annual average). The effect is also demonstrated by the surface temperature, which is up to 12 °C lower than that of asphalt. The GDM.CLIMATE STONE stores 10 l of water per m² within the stone, is DIBt-approved, tested for harmful substances and complies with DWA-A 138-1.
